The film, ¡¸Heart¡¹ questions ourselves in realizing our essence and the meaning of life. This film will captivate the viewer¡¯s attention to what we fight for and why we destroy each other. In this film, the heart is symbolic of something valuable that people want to hold onto or take from others. Not a heart representing a spiritual essence or selfless love. It may represent desire. In other words, heart in this film can be described as a question to all of us given from the god. It¡¯s us who make the choice whether to obsess it or share it and whether to find true answers inside or collapse in the false desire and greed. Like many things that people value in the world, this heart causes people to become selfish or envious and ultimately violent. In the end, these characters lose everything because they want the heart all for themselves. I don¡¯t think the point here is ¡®why¡¯ these characters behave as they do. There are examples from real life where something that should be a force for good becomes something that brings about pain and ruin (monetary wealth, religion, natural resources and etc). This story is not about ¡®why¡¯. It is about the results of the characters greed and selfishness. The audience may well ask themselves why the characters do what they do. They may see in themselves elements of the very behavior exhibited by the characters in the film. In that regard, this film will serve as a cautionary tale to all who view it.
